Scott McLean

Scott McLeanThe Wranglers will be led this season by Head Coach Scott McLean. Originally from Bemidji, Minnesota, Scott played youth and high school hockey from the late 60's until 1978. He continued his education in 1979 and played college hockey for two years at Rainy River Community College at International Falls, Minnesota. Scott was the team captain of the 1980 Voyageur National Runner-up team. McLean graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Bemidji State University, Minnesota.

Scott has been involved in hockey for 39 years as either a player, coach, hockey director, team manager, official power skating instructor, or fan. As a skating instructor for Burggraf Skating Skills from 1996-2001, Scott has had the opportunity to instruct players on and off ice who currently and formerly have played in the WHL, USHL, NAHL, NCAA, ECHL, AHL, German League and NHL. He has coached youth teams from Oregon and North Dakota that have competed against teams from all over the United States. Scott was also an instructor for the USA Hockey Coaching Education program in the Pacific District for two years and was the Hockey Director for the Rogue Valley Stars from 1999-2001.

Prior to being selected as Head Coach for the Wranglers, Scott was the Power Skating Instructor for the Wranglers during the 2007-2008 inaugural season.

Scott resides in a mountain home near Medford with his wife, Saundra.
